British Shooting Schools Pistol Championships - Scottish Qualifier 2017/18
INDIVIDUAL ENTRY
Individual Categories:
- Junior (P6, P7 & S1)
- Intermediate (S2 & S3)
- Senior (S4, S5 & S6)
- Disability Junior (P6, P7 & S1)
- Disability Intermediate (S2& S3)
- Disability Senior (S4, S5 & S6)
- All mixed gender categories.
TEAM ENTRY
Team Categories:
- Junior (P6, P7 & S1)
- Inter (S2& S3)
- Senior (S4, S5 & S6)
- Teams of 3, mixed gender & physical ability
Top 3 scoring athletes from the same school, in the same age category will be totalled to give their team score. (Scores extracted from the athlete’s individual qualification).
If a school enters more than one team, their top 3 scoring athletes will form “Team A”, their next 3 scoring athletes “Team B” and so on.
The School/College or Representative simply enters the number of Teams they wish to be considered for the relevant Team Category.
The scorers/results team will work out which athletes are in which team, and the Team Scores & Results.
All categories compete on a 10m Range, using a .177 Air Pistol only.
This is one of four qualifying events for the:
NATIONAL FINAL: Wed 17th Jan 2018 @ Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Bucks.
Qualifying Competition Format:
- Qualification - 20 competition shots
- Final – ISSF guided knockout final.
Who Qualifies for the National Final?
- Individual: Top 4 Individual athletes from each category at each qualifying event. (See Rule 21)
- Team: Top Team from each age category at each qualifying event. (See Rule 23)
Important Information:
- Juniors – Double or single handed
- Inter& Senior – Single handed shooting
- Disability Categories - Athletes with any physical disability are able to compete in the Disability Categories, with the exception on visual impairment and intellectual disability.
Due to Scotland's air gun licencing laws - if you are travelling from outwith Scotland you will require a Visitors Permit to bring your weapon into Scotland. The normal turnaround time for this is approximately 1-2 weeks but you should do this as soon as possible.

Registration / Information:
- The Competition Organiser will contact you following the Closing Date via the email address given upon entry. If you haven't heard from the Organiser 5 days in advance of the competition, please email events@scottishtargetshooting.co.uk
- Please ensure athletes register at the time according to their age category.
What is the refund policy?
- The entry fee is non-refundable unless the event is forced to be cancelled by the Event Organisers
Sharing& Borrowing Air Pistols:
- Maximum of 2 competitors can share one pistol. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE TIMETABLE. It’s the team leader’s responsibility to ensure a clash doesn’t occur where 1 or more athletes need to use the same pistol at the same time. Finals and Qualification ranges will run concurrently. Please specify on the entry pistol sharing and the organiser will endeavour timetable accordingly.
- Pistols can be borrowed from the event organisers, but there is a limited amount which will be lent on a first come first served basis. Please email events@scottishtargetshooting.co.uk
I wish to change an athlete, is that okay?
- If you wish to change the name of the athlete entered, please email events@scottishtargetshooting.co.uk prior to the closing date.
Can an athlete compete in more than one Qualifying Event in the 2017/18 Championships?
- Yes. An athlete can only qualify once for the National Final.
