Scottish Target Shooting (STS) is delighted that, this year, the Scottish Qualifier for the British Shooting (BS) Schools Championships is returning as a shoulder to shoulder event.

The BS Championships consist of nine regional, shoulder to shoulder competitions around England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland between September and November. Qualifying athletes will go through to the National Final on Wednesday 5th February 2025 at Chase Leisure Centre, Staffordshire, WS11 4AL.

There are competitions for Air Pistol, Sporter Air Rifle and Precision Air Rifle across 3 age categories.

The Scottish Qualifier will take place

Date : Saturday 16 November 2024.
Venue : Grangemouth Sports Complex FK3 8JB
Entry Closing Date : Sunday 3 November 2024

PROGRAMME
All competitors will shoot 2 relays of 20 shots in 20 minutes at a distance of 10m on electronic targets. Each relay is preceded by 5 minutes setup and 5 minutes sighting and practice.

All relays are mixed gender and mixed physical ability and experience.

Qualifying scores will be the aggregate across both relays.

PLEASE NOTE :

Specific to the Scottish Qualifier event

• There will be NO knockout final.
  Qualifying scores will be the aggregate of both relays on the day

• There will be NO competition at 6 yards.
  All relays will be at 10m

• There will be NO Pistols or Rifles available to borrow at the event·

• Entries are through Scottish Target Shooting (STS) and not British Shooting.

ENTRIES
Entries are open to athletes of all abilities from novice to experienced who will represent their school, including home schooled, in the Championships.  

Entries can be made by parents/guardians, teachers, coaches and athletes themselves. Please let your school know you will be taking part.

STS and BS welcome competitors with a disability except visual impairment and learning disability. There is no separate para category at the Scottish Qualifier and all athletes will compete together in their age category. There is a separate para category at the National Final.

The Scottish Qualifier is held in a fully accessible venue.

CATEGORIES
Age categories are :

• Junior : P6 to S1

• Intermediate : S2 and S3

• Senior : S4 to S6

COMPETITIONS
There are 3 types of entry :

• Individual

• School Teams of 3 in the same age category

• Youth Teams of 3 across all categories (but must include one Junior OR one Intermediate.)

All competitors must enter the Individual Event.

• Individual Entriea are £17.00

• School Teams are free

• Youth Teams are £10.00
