After having no Air Rifle Grand Prix in 20/21, it is nice to be back and at a new venue. Target Technique hosted the first GP of the 2021/22 season at their range in "The Bunker" in Inverness. It was very enjoyable to arrive at the range and not need to setup targets because the range is kitted out with 10 Megalink targets. It was also great to see so many competitors.
The qualification was to see Isabel Stark equal the Junior Women 10m Air Rifle qualification score with a 616.7. Isabel would go on to the Welsh Airgun Championship the following weekend and raise the record to 616.8. There was also a personal best for Lilly Brechin.
It is great to have RWS continue their sponsorship of the Grand Prix series so that we could award tins of pellets to the class winners.
The Class winners, who received tins of RWS pellets as prices, were
Class A: 1st Isabel Stark, 2nd Jack Greene
Class B: 1st Mark Joyce, 2nd Richard Townsend
Class C: 1st Sam Johnson
Class D: 1st Lilly Brechin, 2nd Lucy Richards
The final went to Jack Greene with a new 10m Air Rifle Men Finals record of 247.8, second was Isabel Stark on 245.4 and in third place was Rhona Love.
