Report from the Prone and 3P Weekend 50m Grand Prixes

It was another great weekend at Denwood with a large turnout for both the 3P and Prone events.

The 3P started later than normal on Saturday as it was proceeded by the qualification for the 50m Pistol Championship.

There were 12 men and 5 women competing. Ken Parr top scored in the men's qualification with 1161 and Gemma Kermode top scored in the women's qualification with 567.  This gave Gemma an IoM selection score.

With the late start, the men's and women's finals were shot alongside each other. In the men's final Michael Bargeron was first with 453.4, Ken Parr second and Ruaraidh Macleod third. This means that Ruaraidh is at the top of the points table with one more event to go.

In the women's final Gemma took first place with 448.6, with Vikki Walls second and Sheena Sharp third. Sheena Sharp is leading the points table for the women.

On Sunday, we had some good shooting conditions. The top score during the open part of the event went to Ken Parr with 625.1.

In the C&D final, which is a further 60 shot match, Robin Thomson took first place from Vikki Walls by 0.3. They scored 608.6 and 608.3 respectively. Tom Diggle took third place with 606.9.

In the C&D points table Tom is currently first on 28 points, Robin Thomson is on 27 points and Ian Henderson has 26 points so it should prove to be an interesting GP5.

In the A&B event, we had a really close final, with 5 people tied for second place at one point and a shoot off to decide 6 place (10.4 to 10.3). After the 24 shots of the final, Ruaraidh Macleod took first place with 248.5, Neil Stirton was second and Gary Duff third.  In the A&B points table Ruaraidh is on 29, Neil on 18 and Lenny Thomson on 17
