STS are delighted to announce the entries are now OPEN for the British Shooting Schools Pistol Championships 2018/19. The Championships consists of Individual and Team events each in three age categories (Junior, Intermediate and Senior), all of which are mixed gender and physical ability. Disabled athletes who qualify for the National Final will have the opportunity to compete in the Disability class at the National Final.
With Scotland hosting one of the seven qualifying events spreading across the UK in October and November 2018, this year’s Championships run by British Shooting will be bigger and better than ever. The Scottish Qualifier will take place at Bo'ness Recreation Centre on Sunday 28th October and bookings for this event are now open online.
Individual athletes & teams will have the opportunity to represent their school or educational establishment (home-educated students are also very welcome to enter the Championships) to have the opportunity to win quota places to compete at the National Final, to be held at Stoke Mandeville on Wednesday 16th January 2019.
Competitors are welcome to enter as many qualifying competitions as they wish, but can only win a quota place for the National Final once. If an athlete is in a qualifying position and has already attained a quota place at a previous event, the quota places will roll down the leader board accordingly.
The three age categories for Individuals and School Teams; Junior, Intermediate and Senior, ensure students from P6 to S6 are eligible to compete in this mixed gender and mixed physical ability Championships.
