STS is delighted to confirm the appointment of Jennifer Ross to the STS staffing team.
Jennifer previously carried out the role on a contracted basis but with support from sportscotland secured for the next 2 years, STS has been able to move this post to an employed position. Following going out to advert and conducting interviews for the newly aligned post, Jennifer was able to hold off stiff competition from a quality field of applicants. STS is excited to continue the relationship developed with Jennifer and the opportunity to moving forward the great work already underway.
The focus over the past 12 months has been on moving the performance programme across from sportscotland’s Institute of Sport, but with funding secured over the next 2 years, and much of this work completed, STS is excited by the prospect of continuing work already started on expanding the pathway to help capture new and emerging talent at not just an earlier stage but exploring new entry points into the pathway.
Supported by a fantastic team of coaches, recently re-appointed in April to continue working with STS for the next 12 months, we are really excited by the performance team being created to lead the programme. You can find out more about the performance programme team using the link below:
Jennifer’s Achievements
Jennifer continues with the performance programme as Team Scotland’s most successful female athlete at a Commonwealth Games, winning 5 medals in total, as well as one of Scotland’s most decorated shooters. Her key achievements include (but are not limited to):
2018 - Bronze medal - World Championships – 50m Prone Rifle Team Event (with Seonaid McIntosh & Zoe Bruce)
2017 - Gold Medal - European Championships - 50m Prone Rifle
2017 - Gold Medal - European Championships - 50m Prone Rifle Team Event (with Seonaid McIntosh & Katie Gleeson)
2016 - Competed TeamGB at the Olympic Games in Rio
2014 - Silver Medal – Commonwealth Games - 50m 3 Position Rifle
