The Scottish Olympic Trap team headed to Courtlough Shooting Grounds, Ireland, on 19th & 20th August 2022 for the 45th ICTSC Home Countries Olympic Trap Home International.
As the shooting ground had two Olympic Trap layouts, the format was 75 targets per day – 150 targets in total.
The weather was changeable and challenging, bright sunshine was quickly followed by dark clouds and high winds. This made the shooting particularly challenging.
Scotland’s Ewen Patience took Overall High Gun of the match with a score of 139/150, two targets ahead of Irelands Barry Lynch.
Ewen was the first Scotsman to win Overall High Gun at the Home International match since 2005.
Scotland’s Izzy MacKintosh also put in strong performance in the Junior category, finishing Overall Junior High Gun Runner-Up – just 2 targets behind Wales’ Caledfryn Pritchard.
Well done to Ewen and Izzy on their fantastic performances.
