Scottish Success at NSRA Meetings This Summer

Scottish Meeting 2016 at Lauder

The Earl Haig winner was Ken Greenaway of St Andrews with Bill Vaughan (Selkirk) in second place and Len Thomson third. Steve Gemmell (Perth) won the B, C and D section. Ken Greenaway again won the McQueen Challenge Trophy (X-class grand aggregate). Steve Gemmell won the Bonehill Challenge Cup (class B grand aggregate). Between them Ken and Steve won 16 trophies through the week!

Sheena Sharp won the Denis Giuseppi Trophy. Miss G Gooch (George Watson’s) won the Bryant and May Challenge Cup (class D grand aggregate) and several more trophies.

The “Freuchie” was won by Graham Shedden with Ken Greenaway in runner-up position.
Alloa A (Richard Simpson, Cliff Ogle and Tom Hodgson) won 4 out of the 5 team competitions.

In the Home Countries International Scotland were just beaten by England by 2 points.

National Meeting 2016 at Bisley

In the X-class grand aggregate Ken Greenaway came third and Richard Simpson sixth. Ken also won the Double English Match, the Frank Brown Memorial Shield for best veteran, and retained the John Pearman Trophy for best combined aggregate at Lauder and Bisley.

For the second successive year Ken was selected to represent Great Britain in the 10-man Wakefield Match team.

Richard Simpson won the Bailey Cup with a fine 394 ex 400. Cliff Ogle won the Norton Memorial Trophy (any sights). Alloa A (Richard Simpson, Cliff Ogle and Tom Hodgson) won the Denis Giuseppi Trophy.

In the Home Countries International Scotland came second, with Ken Greenaway winning the Cat Hartog Cup for best score from all teams with a 395 ex 400.
