Para Trap STS athlete Allan Ritchie enjoyed a very successful evening at the Aberdeenshire Sports Awards on Friday 15 March 2019.
With so many talented athletes in Aberdeenshire, Allan was honoured to have made the list of nominees but he was thrilled to pick up the Disability Sport Award but was then, in his own words, “blown away” to also be awarded Aberdeenshire Sports Person Of the Year 2018.
This is a truly fantastic achievement and recognises Allan’s incredible achievements over the past 12 months that include winning Gold in March 2018 at the Al Ain World Cup (setting a joint world record for qualification score along the way), Silver in October 2018 at the Chateauroux World Cup and Gold in the team event at the World Championships in Lonato, also in October. These awards also add to Allan’s collection, having won Para Trap Shooter of 2018 and Major International Medallist 2018 at the British Shooting Awards held in November last year.
Allan and STS would like to congratulate all nominees and award winners thank Aberdeenshire Sports Council for hosting an excellent evening.
Allan himself added that he wished to thank his sponsors, supporting sports bodies, and coach for their continued assistance, adding that most of all he would like to thank Izzy Ritchie “for putting up with my obsession”.
