Over the last 6 months there have been reports of an issues regarding Lufthansa refusing to fly firearms from airports in Germany to Scotland, suggesting this was because of Scottish Government policy.
The Scottish Government has looked into the matter and clarified that Lufthansa have received warnings for mishandling firearms at UK airports, and have chosen not to carry firearms to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness or Heathrow airports as a result. The Scottish Government would like us to be clear that this is a commercial decision for Lufthansa and not a result of Scottish Government or UK Government policy. Lufthansa have told the Scottish Government that information will be provided to their customers accordingly.
