On Tuesday (22 October 2024) Glasgow was officially confirmed as the hosts of the 2026 Commonwealth Games but this news was met tinged with sadness for the shooting community as it was also confirmed that shooting has not been selected as one of the 10 sports on the programme. We switched the venue from Denwood to Balerno & Currie this year, and it was good to get more of the top Edinburgh shooters to accept selections this time around. I am however afraid to report that we have been comprehensively beaten in both matches.
Congratulations to the three Scottish Target Shooters who have made it through the final qualifying round for the Roberts match next year.
